Status Report is for April 11, 2008
DESCRIPTION:
This is a BJP Intersection Improvement Program project. The
project has been revised from improvements at only Atlantic/Hodges
to at-grade improvements at the intersections of Atlantic Blvd.
with Girvin, Hodges and San Pablo and additional lanes along
Atlantic Blvd. between the above intersections.
STATUS:
Current Activity: PLANNING PHASE: The Intersection
Component Evaluation Study recommended at-grade (ground level)
improvements for these intersections. Request for Proposal (RFP)
for Preliminary Engineering Report will be released in the second
quarter of 2008.
Funding: Revised BJP Program allocation is
$19.8 million.
Schedule: Planning will begin in the third
quarter of 2008.
DBE/MBE
DBE participation will conform with JTA policies.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES:
Preserving the surrounding neighborhoods, while providing traffic
congestion relief and improving safety at the intersection,
and reducing air pollution along the transportation corridor.
