DESCRIPTION:
This is a BJP Intersection Improvement Program project to construct
an interchange at the intersection.
STATUS:
Current Activity: DESIGN PHASE:JTA has advertised
this project for construction bids, with a bid date of March
6, 2008.
A public meeting regarding this project was held on March 6,
2007 at the Kernan Middle School.

Funding: Revised BJP Program allocation is
$42.64 million.
Schedule: Construction Contract was awarded
to Hubbard Construction Co. as of March 2008. A construction
start date in May 2008 is anticipated.
DBE/MBE
MBE participation will conform with JTA policies.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES:
Preserving the surrounding neighborhoods, while providing traffic
congestion relief and improving safety at the intersection,
and reducing air pollution along the transportation corridor.
Maintaining safety during construction will be a major priority.
