Status Report is for April 11, 2008
DESCRIPTION:
This is a BJP Intersection Improvement Program project to construct
an interchange at the intersection. Only the planning, design
and right-of-way phases are funded.
STATUS:
Current Activity: PLANNING PHASE: The project
was recommended by the Intersection Component Evaluation Study.
The planning phase is near completion. Draft conceptual report
has been completed and submitted to FDOT for review.
Public meetings were held on October 17, 2006 (business owners)
and October 19, 2006 (residents) to discuss alternatives for
a possible interchange at Atlantic and Southside boulevards.
The following displays were available to review by interested
residents and business owners. (

Funding: Revised BJP Program allocation is
$35.12 million.
Schedule: The planning element for this project
will be expanded to a PD&E to be completed for Southside
Boulevard (Butler to Atlantic). Completion date will be determined
upon consultant selection for the Southside PD&E.
DBE/MBE
DBE participation will conform with City policies.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES:
Maintaining access to the surrounding neighborhoods, while providing
traffic congestion relief and improving safety at the intersection,
and reducing air pollution along the transportation corridor.
Future project funding for construction.
