DESCRIPTION:
Widen Beach Boulevard from four lanes to six lanes between San
Pablo Road and Penman Road, including the replacement of two
existing two-lane draw bridges with two fixed high level bridges
with three lanes each. View

STATUS:
Current Activity:
CONSTRUCTION PHASE: Construction is 57% complete. Relocation
of existing utilities and construction of storm drainage continues.
The new westbound bridge is now opened to two lanes of traffic
in each direction. Demolition of the old lift bridge and roadway are underway. View

Funding: Revised BJP program allocation of
$78.5 million, with another $436,749 from FDOT.
Schedule: The new northern bridgerecently opened.
Total project construction is scheduled to be completed in the

DBE/MBE The DBE goal for the construction contract
is 15%.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES:
This project has been coordinated with the City of Jacksonville
Beach's project to align Penman Road South with Penman Road
North at Beach Blvd.
