Station Maps with highlighted parcels of interest

In conducting the Tier One PEIS, the JTA identified parcels of interest that could be useful in the development of planned BRT station locations. These parcels are considered of interest because they are located in activity centers for transit service. The entire parcel is shown on the maps even if JTA is only interested in a portion of the property to gain environmental clearance from the Federal Transit Administration.

Under the Tier One PEIS, JTA is allowed to begin soliciting and purchasing the identified parcels of interest from willing sellers only, to use as transit hubs in the near future and to convert to BRT stations as the system is built.

To address growing community concerns of potential property acquisition and eminent domain, it is important to know that property owners who are affected by the Tier One parcels of interest (which can be viewed in the attached maps as the yellow highlighted areas with parcel IDs) have already been personally contacted by JTA representatives in July and August 2007 to inquire about interest in being willing sellers.

If you have not been personally contacted to be a willing seller or your property is not listed on the attached maps, you are receiving notification from JTA because you are within 300 feet of the study area.

In some special cases, a few property owners were contacted by JTA representatives last year or earlier in 2007. Since that time, the focus has shifted to properties in the station areas and not properties along the alignment.

The BRT project is a long-term project that will be built incrementally. In early 2009, the JTA will have further information about properties needed along the alignments.
